Third Grade Library Curriculum Map
The main objectives for the Third Grade Library Curriculum are:
  • To continue to explore the use of the library and its resources for the students to meet all of their information needs
  • To make connections with the Units of Inquiry developed in the PYP Grade 3 Curriculum
  • To have students demonstrate mastery of the terms, concepts, and skills introduced, reviewed, and reinforced in Kindergarten through Second Grade.
  • To continue to expand their knowledge on the parts of a book
  • To introduce and teach to use the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)
  • To introduce and teach encyclopedia skills (online)
  • To introduce and teach how to uses atlases (online)
  • To introduce the different genres of literature to further develop students' interests in books and reading
